Formerly known as Twitter, the tech giant X has introduced a new update to its Ads Revenue program for creators. This update brings a significant change by reducing the minimum number of impressions required for eligibility from 15 million to 5 million.

In an official tweet, the company announced, “Now, even more people can get paid to post! “We have reduced the requirement for ads revenue sharing eligibility from 15 million to 5 million impressions in the last 3 months.” Additionally, Twitter has also decreased the minimum payout threshold from $50 to $10. To access these benefits, users are encouraged to sign up for a Premium subscription.

Elon Musk, a prominent figure in the tech industry, elaborated on the update, stating, “This essentially means that X Premium (formerly known as Twitter Blue) is free for accounts that generate above 5M views.” Musk highlighted that only views from verified accounts would be considered, as measures are taken to prevent misuse by spambots.

According to The Verge, a well-known American technology news website, Elon Musk initially introduced the revenue-sharing plan in February. The company has recently started making payments to accounts that meet the eligibility criteria. These criteria include having paid verification through Twitter Blue or Verified organizations, as well as a minimum of 15 million “organic” impressions in the last three months and a follower count of at least 500. These updates have sparked interest among creators and are expected to impact the way content creators engage with the platform.
